Shipp Claims There Is Still Time For Kedington To Decide On Silver St

Silver St Junction With the public meeting on Thursday night (24/9/9) to discuss among other issues the proposed path extensions on Silver St it was feared that it was too late to stop the plan due to the notification of road works in the affected area and comments by Kevin Shipp of Suffolk Highways Department that the go ahead had already been given by Suffolk County Council. However in response to a phone call on Tuesday morning from Parish Council Chairman John Cahill Mr Shipp stated that the village's views would still be listened to and the road works although indeed booked for the purpose of extending the path are "only provisional" at this time.

With this subject now a definite live one and the Local Development Plan still threatening both the creep of Haverhill onto Kedington's doorstep and the possibility of other building work that many do not wish to see at the heart of the village, Thursday night's meeting is set to shape the village for years to come.
