Anyone walking down Church Hill Sunday afternoon might have been surprised to see a motley collection of hot boxes, slow-cookers and even hostess trolleys being carried into the church. Had they have entered, their surprise would have been answered by the sight of tables laid out in the chancel and aisle ready for the more than eighty people who sat down for this years harvest lunch.
The food which included chicken casserole and apple crumble was provided and cooked by the participants and no charge was made. However over £400 was collected towards a school in Kagera province, Kenya. Altogether- a happy social occasion.
