Annoyance At Road Works Chaos

Road Closed It is perhaps unarguable that work has been needed along the B1061 (Haverhill road at the Wratting end and Sturmer Road at the other) ever since the damage caused by last winters cold snap, however voices of complaint and confusion have been raised around the village since the closure first began on Tuesday morning.
The planned closure has lead to all buses being cancelled for the whole of Tuesday and Wednesday and long detours for many and been made worse when machinery broke down leading to a further morning without buses after work recommenced on Thursday.

Where as most see some disruption as inevitable many have asked why has it not been possible to organise the works so that either the way out one end or the other is always available since the alternatives are back roads more dangerous than the B1061 even with the surface removed.

It has also been noticed that whilst there is a diversion marked from the Wratting end of the road in to Kedington (Via Haverhill) is there no signposting for a diversion out of Kedington? Much as I would rather be stuck in the village than out of it many people found themselves being asked today for advice as to how to get to Haverhill.
