On Thursday the parish council held a meeting to canvas the opinion of villagers on the plans for the village contained in the current round of the Local Development Framework (LDF). The plans put forward the proposition that apart from infill building (houses built in back gardens etc.) the only building would be a plan for 65 homes to be created on the land currently covered by the sheltered accommodation of the Stourmead estate.Turn out was very low for the meeting. Only three members of the public turned up to the Legion Hall and were met by two parish councillors; (Terry Wheeler and Peter Donoghue) and Parish clerk Marion Farrant. Pete Garner sent apologies due to a serious illness in the family.

It was agreed however that any building on the site would have to be dependant upon suitable upgrading and renovation of down stream sewerage systems and a reasonable road system for getting traffic on and off the estate including upgrades to the junction at the top of Mill Rd.
Questions were also raised as to whether the recently announced end to regional housing plans would remove the need for additional housing in the village all together.
